About The Book

FROM THE PULPIT TO A MOVEMENT: A SPIRIT-LED GUIDE FOR LEADERS

When I first began to write From the Pulpit to a Movement, I didn’t set out to critique what’s wrong with preaching; I set out to call leaders back to what’s powerful about it. This book was born out of more than five decades of ministry, countless conversations with pastors, and a deep conviction that the pulpit is more than a platform for weekly sermons; it is a catalyst for vision, unity, and gospel renewal.

Why I Wrote This Book

The reason behind the book is simple: it’s stuff that worked. Throughout my ministry, I’ve seen the Spirit use strategic preaching to bring clarity, restore hope, and ignite movement within churches. I felt compelled to share these lessons, not as theory from a classroom, but as lived truth forged in real ministry contexts.

What This Book Addresses

In these pages, I invite pastors, Associational Mission Strategists, and transitional leaders to rediscover preaching as a strategic tool for transformation. The book speaks to:

  • Preaching for momentum, not just the moment
  • Integrating modern tools (like AI) with Spirit-led preparation
  • Navigating resistance, fatigue, and fear with grace and discernment
  • Using the pulpit to cast vision and build unity across diverse churches
  • Affirming the unique voice and calling of AMSs and transitional pastors
  • Equipping transitional leaders to preach with clarity and stability in fragile seasons
  • Planning sermons intentionally to guide congregations through healing and renewal

What Makes This Book Different

There are plenty of books on preaching and plenty on strategy, but very few that bring the two together. What sets this resource apart is:

  • A blend of biblical depth and strategic clarity
  • Tools born out of real-world ministry experience, not theory
  • A vision not just for better sermons, but for building movements that last
  • A humble, conversational tone, like a trusted co-laborer walking beside you
  • A toolbox of practical resources, sermon calendars, evaluation guides, frameworks

What Readers Will Walk Away With

My prayer is that anyone who reads this book will gain more than just ideas. They will:

  • Feel equipped to lead with clarity and humility
  • Be encouraged to spark transformation, not just manage ministries
  • Learn how to align pulpit ministry with the broader mission of the church
  • Leave with a renewed sense of calling and a framework for Spirit-led leadership
